What is BUET?

BUET is Bangladesh’s premier public technological research university, located in Dhaka. Established in 1876 as the Dacca Survey School and becoming BUET in 1962, it is the oldest institution in the country for engineering, architecture, and urban planning education.

How was BUET founded?

BUET started as the Dacca Survey School, later renamed Ahsanullah School of Engineering in 1908. It became Ahsanullah Engineering College in 1947 and was upgraded to East Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology in 1962. After Bangladesh’s independence in 1971, it was renamed BUET.
